FALL IN LOVE AT THE GALLERIA BORGHESE. INITIATIVES FOR VALENTINE’S DAY
An entire week dedicated to the theme of love: on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, from February 12 to 18, the Galleria Borghese is organizing a program of special initiatives to celebrate with its visitors the lovers’ day.
Every day at 5 pm and at 5.45 pm the Museum offers a guided tour to discover the stories of love portrayed in the masterpieces of the gallery, located on the second floor: from the overwhelming passion between Venus and Adonis to the deceptions of love devised by Jupiter, from the helpless sensuality of Lucina to the mystical wedding allegories of Titian, the visits will investigate the forms and nuances with which the artists have celebrated the most palpitating and ancestral of feelings.
The rooms of the Galleria Borghese, in fact, are full of paintings that represent the many facets of love and erotic desire: depictions of Venus and other gods, legends, mythological or fairy tales, portraits of the beloved, stories of lost, never found, or tormented loves.
The visits, lasting 1 hour, will only be held in Italian.
When leaving the museum, visitors will be able to stroll through the lovers’ walk: a gallery of flowers to walk through for a romantic goodbye.
In addition, during the week of Valentine’s Day, visitors are invited to participate in a dedicated social contest. You will need to post a photo taken inside the Museum with the tag @galleriaborgheseufficiale and #borgheseinlove: the images will be shared in the stories of the official accounts and the most beautiful will be rewarded with a tasty surprise.
