The great German artist Georg Baselitz is the protagonist of the fifth edition of the “Contemporary Commissions” project at the Galleria Borghese.

Baselitz is considered one of the leading German artists after the Second World War, one of the most extraodinary interpreters of the great historical tragedy that characterized his country, and, at the same time, a great connaisseur of Itlian art, in particular Mannerism.

“Georg Baselitz. Made in Italy” is the first exhibition dedicated to Baselitz by a Roman museum, and constitutes a great opportunity to get to know his exceptional sculptures, which are less well known than his famous paintings, but equally crucial in the corpus of his work.
