Madonna with Child between Saints Anthony Abbot and Catherine of Alexandria
Boateri Jacopo de’
(active second quarter of the 16th century)
Even though it is listed in the inventories first as by Perugino and later by Francia, the panel can be attributed to Jacopo de’ Boateri, a follower of the latter. The painting repeats a prototype by the Master, as seen in both the schematic symmetries and the harmonious shapes of the figures immersed in a typical Bolognese landscape.
