Portrait of his brother’s family

Licinio Bernardino
(Venice 1485 - after 1549)

Part of the Collection as early as 1613, the painting portrays the family of Bernardino’s brother Arrigo, who was also a painter and is thought to be the author of the portraits of the young children. In addition to the arrangement of the figures, Bernardino is attributed with the execution of young children. In addition to the arrangement of the figures, Bernardino is attributed with the execution of the faces of Arrigo, his wife, Agnese, and his eldest son, Fabio, who subsequently became a goldsmith and engraver, and is here portrayed holding up a statuette of the so-called Belvedere Torso.
