(Bologna 1628 - 1665)
Present in the collection since 1790, the work attests the artist’s fidelity to both her father, the painter Giovanni Andrea (1610-70), and the clear manner of Guido Reni. Lucretia is lying on the bed after the violence inflicted on her by the son of Tarquin the Proud, ready to kill herself with the dagger under her right hand.
