VIBR.ID, THE MUSICAL WORK COMMISSIONED BY GALLERIA BORGHESE, IS NOW ON SPOTIFY

VIBR.ID, the musical composition commissioned by Galleria Borghese from internationally renowned maestro Federico Longo and performed by some of the world’s finest musicians, is now available on Spotify (pre-save) and on the main streaming platforms.

The project originated from a 2020 commission aimed at restoring the Museum’s “sound identity,” in line with the founding vision of Cardinal Scipione Borghese, who commissioned not only works of art but also musical compositions. It is structured in two parts, dedicated respectively to the ground floor (VIBR.ID) and the first floor (CHROMOLOGHIA) of the Gallery.

VIBR.ID is based on four guiding principles: Harmony, Uniqueness, Essentiality of forms, and Beauty. Maestro Longo spent an extended period listening to the rooms, starting from silence and seeking to capture their vibrations, voice, and expressive potential. This process evolved into what the composer himself has defined as the Gallery’s “vibratory identity.” Silence was then broken, and sounds were fixed, tracing the musical path of the composition, which remains indissolubly linked to the spaces for which it was conceived.

CHROMOLOGHIA is a single-movement work inspired by the picture gallery, whose sound is activated by two new principles: color and light. Color, in fact, completes the vibratory experience, as the painting captures light and returns it in the form of artistic vibration. This occurs in a continuous, virtuous exchange—like systole and diastole—enacting the simultaneous ability to receive and to give. The captured light is returned with a new artistic identity, in the form of sound. Sound thus becomes the voice of light, which reveals the voice of color: the Gallery’s second “vibratory identity.”
