WHAT A MYTH THIS CHRISTMAS! WORKSHOPS FOR FAMILIES DURING THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD
On the occasion of the Christmas holidays, the museum offers workshop visits for children titled What a Myth This Christmas!
The family visits are dedicated to storytelling, an activity so cherished by children during this time of year! It’s a journey in search of stories and myths, through the telling of mythological fables depicted in the large sculptural groups of the Borghese collection and on the vaulted ceilings.
The young visitors will also be invited to observe the technical secrets of the sculptures, and how artists managed to overcome the limits imposed by the nature of marble. The expressiveness of the faces, poses, and gestures of the statues help stimulate children’s spirit of observation and to understand the myths, stories, and legends associated with them.
The visit will begin and conclude in the Entrance Hall where children can mime the story that most impressed them in a kind of tableau vivant.
Target Audience: Children accompanied by family members, aged 5 to 11.
