A JOURNEY THROUGH GUIDO RENI’S ROMAN PLACES

A JOURNEY THROUGH GUIDO RENI’S ROMAN PLACES

With the exhibition Guido Reni and Rome. Nature and Devotion, the Galleria Borghese wishes to invite visitors to discover the masterpieces of the Master from his Roman years located in other parts of the city, in order to highlight the artist’s profound relationship with Rome and the importance of his work within the Borghese patronage.

The publication Guido Reni in Rome. A Guide, published by Marsilio, aims to accompany the reader-visitor on a real journey through 23 locations of the city, including museums, churches, private and institutional residences.

A virtual journey through Reni’s Roman places has been donated to the Galleria Borghese by IF Experience. All visitors to the exhibition will be able to download, using a QR code, a map with the places and works of the Master of the Seventeenth Century in Rome.

In addition, for the entire period of the exhibition, the Presidency of the Republic has decided to exceptionally open the Chapel of the Annunciation, frescoed by Reni for Pope Paul V Borghese from 1609 to 1611.

Guided tours of the Chapel, and of the rooms of Pope Paul V Borghese, will take place from March 18th to May 21st, every Friday and Saturday. For information and reservations, please visit

Finally, the Casino dell’Aurora Pallavicini Rospigliosi has decided to open to the public the fresco painted by Guido Reni on commission of Cardinal Scipione Borghese. The fresco will be visible free of charge on the specific dates and according to the procedures indicated on their website
