NEDKO SOLAKOV. THE PASSAGE (A COMMISSIONED ART WORK’S STORY)
The Bulgarian artist Nedko Solakov is the protagonist of the fourth exhibition, i n the Uccelliera of the Galleria Borghese, organized as part of the Contemporary Commissions project, which promotes experimentation with and reflection on the large artistic heritage of the Borghese Collection.
Nedko Solakov’s works deal with existential questions, trusting in the viewer’s critical participation and spontaneous emotional involvement. In his “The Passage (a commissioned art work’s story)” project, the artist engages the subject of life and death, enabling visitors physically and mentally to express their choice between two possibilities. With his usual ability to reflect on language that is not only artistic and his sophisticated irony, Solakov creates a surprising work, a vital experience, which dialogues on diffrent levels with both artists of the past and the public of today.
