“The Goddess of Love: The Thousand Faces of Venus” is the title of our special initiative dedicated to Valentine’s Day.
Every day from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the museum offers thematic insights to discover the many facets of Venus. As the goddess of love, beauty, and natural fertility—whether sensual or modest, capricious or persuasive—Venus holds a central place in the imagination of artists and patrons, as evidenced by her prominent presence throughout the Borghese collection.
These sessions will take place in Room X, the “Cabinet of Venuses” on the first floor, and Room I on the ground floor, which is dedicated to Pauline Bonaparte as Venus Victrix—the apotheosis of the goddess’s eternal charm and a celebration of Canova’s genius.
From February 10th to 15th, visitors to Galleria Borghese are invited to join our Valentine’s Day social media contest. Capture a special moment or your favorite artwork and post it, tagging @galleriaborgheseufficiale.
We will be sharing your photos on our official account! Winners will receive two tickets for the “Glances Beyond Time” initiative.
