Amedeo Spagnoletto and Francesca Cappelletti – Memorial Day
On Memorial Day, Francesca Cappelletti, Director of the Borghese Gallery, and Amedeo Spagnoletto, Director of the National Museum of Italian Judaism and the Shoah (MEIS), make us reflect on a painful page of our History.
The Museum, custodian of peoples’ identities and roots, becomes a place for deepening and celebrating the concept of Remembrance. The Directors also recall the figure of Paola Della Pergola, Director of the Borghese Gallery formerly a Ministry official, and recount how the Shoah, giving as understood how severe the persecution of rights was, also affected culture causing incalculable losses of knowledge.
