TITIAN, BELLINI,BRONZINO. MASTERPIECES FROM THE BORGHESE GALLERY TO PALAZZO BARBERINI

TITIAN, BELLINI,BRONZINO. MASTERPIECES FROM THE BORGHESE GALLERY TO PALAZZO BARBERINI

From the collaboration between the Galleria Borghese and the Gallerie Nazionali di Arte Antica comes a new chapter in the exceptional exhibition itinerary that already included works by Titian and Bellini and that from tomorrow will be renewed with the addition of eight new works, including important paintings by Guido Reni, Scipione Pulzone and Palma il Giovane.

Together with the Gallerie Nazionali di Arte Antica we have initiated an unprecedented collaboration that has allowed tens of thousands of visitors to admire a part of our heritage that would otherwise not have been accessible during the ambitious renovation project of the Pinacoteca, part of which is still undergoing major restoration work thanks to NRRP funds.

In the South Wing of the piano nobile of Palazzo Barberini, it will therefore be possible to continue to see the exhibition enriched by new arrivals, some coming from the Deposits and therefore rarely visible, which had already been extended once and will continue throughout the summer, from 1 August to 27 October 2024.

Alongside absolute masterpieces such as Giovanni Bellini’s Madonna and Child and Titian’s Amor Sacro e Amor Profano, the public will be able to admire, among others, Guido Reni’s Danza Campestre, Scarsellino’s Venus and Adonis, Jacopo Palma the Younger’s The Fall of Lucifer or Scipione Pulzone’s Holy Family.

The exhibition represents a unique opportunity to see in dialogue two collections that share a similar history, linked to two crucial figures of 17th century Roman political and cultural life, Scipione Borghese e Maffeo Barberini, in an ideal historical and cultural, and last but not least, geographical proximity.

Moreover, for the entire period of the exhibition, the discount on tickets will continue to be active. For those who have purchased a ticket for the Galleria Borghese, they will be entitled to visit the National Galleries of Ancient Art at a very reduced cost (5 euro), while enjoying all the extraordinary
