Tiziano. Dialoghi di Natura e di Amore, a cura di Maria Giovanna Sarti
In this fourth appointment, Maria Giovanna Sarti, curator of the exhibition ‘Tiziano. Dialogues of Nature and Love”, tells us more about Sassoferrato’s painting The Three Ages of Man, an excellent and very interesting late 17th-century copy of Titian’s original, preserved in Edinburgh and executed around 1514. Sassoferrato’s version of The Three Ages of Man, normally kept in the deposits of the Galleria Borghese and exceptionally visible for the exhibition, presents some interesting differences with Titian’s original, which has many compositional affinities with Nymph and Shepherd, although it was painted sixty years later.
