Painting on Stone in Rome between the Sixteenth and Seventeenth Centuries,” Thomas Clement Salomon, an art historian, tells us about the peculiarities of the stone decorations in the Hall of the Emperors at the Galleria Borghese, investigating in particular the origin of the materials used and their significance.
