Concert: The Borghese’s and music

The Borghese’s and music, includes the concert Livia Spinola Borghese and his virtuosi musicians, it aims to investigate and outline the relations of the Borghese family with music and musicians, particularly in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The program of this concert intends to explore the network of relationships which linked, through musical patronage, Princess Maria Livia Spinola Borghese to various musicians, many Venetians, who were in the 1820s presenting their works in Rome like Benedetto Marcello, Francesco Gasparini and Don Antonio Vivaldi.

Another key figure in the program is the singer Giovanni Ossi, Virtuoso of Prince Borghese in the decade 1719 – 1729, one of the protagonists of the Roman theatre scene of those years.Today, almost two hundred years after those first executions, we intend, with this program, to re-evaluate the role of patron that the Prince was able to play in the Rome of her time.
